CHU Lok Ting, Natalie was born in Hong Kong in 1999 and graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a degree in Fine Arts in 2022. With a strong interest in ancient East Asian art history, commemorative rituals, and craftsmanship, she developed a demi-archaeological, research-based approach to cultural heritage conservation, focusing on revitalizing historical objects through sentimental connections.
The theme of "void" frequently appears in her practice. By integrating found objects with modern materials such as cement, steel, and glass, she encourages audiences to fill in the gaps in historical objects with their own interpretations. This approach ultimately questions how we position ourselves between the burden of history and the modern era.
CHU integrates found objects, archival materials, texts, and antiquities into her installations, sculptures, and ink works. Her work has been exhibited at prominent institutions like the Hong Kong Museum of Art and art fairs. She has also received various awards, including the Friends of the Art Museum Prize and the HART Award.
朱樂庭於1999年出生於香港，2022年畢業於香港中文大學藝術系。朱氏在對東亞古代藝術史、儀式和工藝的興趣中發展出「類考古」和研究為本的創作。朱氏的創作關注現代社會中的文化遺產保育，探討情感聯繫如何可以令遺物和回憶產生新的意義。
朱氏的創作常圍繞「虛空」。她將現成物品與現代材料如水泥、鋼鐵和玻璃結合以填補不完整的歷史物品，並鼓勵以自己的解讀進行詮釋，探索我們在歷史的重量與現代發展之間應如何定位自己。
朱氏將現成物品、檔案材料、文本和古物融入她的裝置、雕塑和墨水作品中。她的作品曾在香港藝術館等重要機構和藝博會展出，並獲得多個獎項，包括「文物館友會獎」和「HART Award」等。
