The Monument of Time - From Antiquity to Artistic Creation
The age value of antiquities could never be emulated by any pristine artifacts. The definition of antiquities in this circumstance is not limited to rare, valuable and exquisite antiques, but in general speaking, any kind of remnants created in the distant past. What insights would antiquities bring when they break apart from their original context and become a part of contemporary culture? The demonstration of time in the creation of art could be multi-dimensional, how could foresight be attained by investigating the past? In the Artist Talk, speakers would discuss how could antiquities relate to contemporary art creation from the perspective of art history and archaeology.
